Services
Cordova Environmental Consulting, PLLC (CEC) is a full-service environmental consulting firm headquartered in Chandler, Arizona. The CEC client list ranges from major petroleum and manufacturing companies, local and federal government agencies, to individual property owners. CEC professionals have been providing comprehensive, business-minded environmental solutions for over 20 years. Our hands-on team of engineers, geologists, scientists, and technicians has a full range of experience required to recognize, assess, and resolve complex environmental issues. We assist clients in defining and understanding their environmental needs, and developing cost-effective solutions that have proven acceptable to the public and regulatory community. Beyond offering an extensive range of environmental services, we are a licensed general engineering contractor that can provide you with a variety of construction related remediation services. This allows CEC to handle the construction service in house and not paying the additional subcontractor handling fees charged by most environmental consultants. Our Environmental services include:
Soil & Groundwater Remediation
CEC specializes in assessment and remediation of soil and groundwater throughout the southwest for properties impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, mining waste streams, chlorinated solvents, heavy metals, and other recalcitrant compounds. CEC conducts site investigation and remediation services by applying the most practical technical approaches to cost-effectively characterize site conditions, develop appropriate remediation strategies and cleanup goals, design, construct, operate and optimize remediation systems, and ultimately achieve site closure/no-further action. |
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
CEC prepares Phase I ESA's that enable our clients to economically evaluate potential environmental risks which may be associated with real property. These ESA's conform to standards detailed in ASTM Standard E1527-05 and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Standards and Practices for AAI Rule. Having performed Phase I's on thousands of properties in the southwest, we offer our clients a perspective on every property type. This includes corridor assessments near freeways and utility easements. Our quick turnarounds and practical approach to Phase I ESA's ensure a satisfactory closing. |
ASTM Transaction Screen
The purpose of an Environmental Transaction Screen Process (TSP) "is to define good commercial and customary practice in the United States of America for conducting a transaction screen for a parcel of commercial real estate where the user wishes to conduct limited environmental due diligence (that is, less than a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment)." As noted in the ASTM guidelines for a TSP, if the purpose of completing the environmental due diligence is to qualify for protection under CERCLA, "this practice should not be applied" and a Phase I ESA should be conducted. |
Asbestos Surveys
An asbestos survey is a comprehensive examination of a structure to determine whether or not asbestos is present. Asbestos, a building material now recognized as hazardous, was once widely used in all types of construction projects. Asbestos surveys are designed to identify asbestos-containing materials so that they can be handled with special care during renovations and demolitions. |
Lead-based Paint Surveys
Lead Risk Assessors are individuals who conduct risk assessments, which are on-site investigations to determine the existence, nature, severity and location of lead-based paint hazards, and provide a report explaining the results of the investigation and options for reducing lead-based paint hazards. In addition to being responsible for the same functions as a lead inspector, they develop standard written inspection protocols for inspections, interpret the results of lead inspections and make recommendations on hazard control options, prepare written lead exposure hazard reduction plans for lead hazard reduction projects, and issue certificates of inspection, certificates of lead free, certificates of lead safe and certificates of compliance. |
